Bennert closed end manometers are very easy to make and are very accurate. The only drawback with these is the limited range say 3mm-70mm Hg for the common designs. Fluids other than Hg can be used such as made by Dwyer.

The big advantage is direct reading, simplicity, easy use and they can't lie like an electronic device which needs calibrating now and then.
