Li Al Reduction

This is a crazy idea that might not work.  When looking at the methods for creating LiAlH₄ I decided that I didn't like them much at all.

An idea hit me.  In the redction of MDP2NP to MDA could a person just add Li and amalgamated aluminum to perform the redction and not have to go through the trouble to synthesizing LAH?

It does not work like that. LiAlH₄ can only be made from LiH and etheral AlCl₃ outside of an industrial setting.
