Your trying to find it similar to ghb....
i wouldnt eat it....
had bad times with ghb so im bias anyway...

has anyone seen doco as to the activity or propyl chain ghb replacment???

3-hydroxy-propanoic acid has good probabilities to bee dehydrated to acrylic acid in the acid environment of the stomach. Acrylic acid is not a nice thing to have in your body, so I would strongly advise you against ingesting that stuff.
The least you could do before even thinking of ingesting something like that is to find the MSDS sheets of both 3-hydroxy-propanoic and acrylic acid and see what the LD₅₀ and the acute toxicity symptoms are like.

3-hydroxypropanoic acid has been found to be inert at GHB receptors in at least one assay I have read.
