Question on Zealot's Ketamine synth

Perhaps I've overlooked something obvious, but step 10 of zealot's method seems to be lacking a piece of information:

45g of the above bromoketone is dissolved in 50mls benzene, add therein 50mls (17g(=23mls) is required for neutralization of HBr, but a 2x excess is used).

50 mls of what?

Well I suppose I am going to answer my own question then.  And the answer is (after retranslating the original russian post):
Triethylamine!

Oh and in the bromination, the washes are with dilute Na2CO3 solution, not NaHCO3 as posted.  Washing with NaHCO3 makes a fine bubbly mess though  ;)
