The Consolidation 39 MPV, a pilot-operated safety relief valve, combines both modulating and non-modulating pilot mechanisms into one assembly, while allowing easy field conversion from one configuration to the other.
In operation, the modulating pilot senses system pressure and uses this pressure to control the closing force on the main valve disc. The non-modulating or ``pop'' pilot feature allows immediate discharge once a predetermined set pressure is reached. Available in inlet sizes ranging from 1 to 10 in., and in outlet sizes from 2 to 10 in., the 39 MPV can withstand pressures as high as 3,750 psi, and temperatures ranging from -40 to +505 degrees F.
