Is 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde something that is commonly made, or should it be purchased from a reputable location. SWIM hasn't found a definitive answer in TFSE.

hest

Aldrich sell's it :-)
Dont know your chemical skill's but there is a shitload of diff. synths at the hive

Well, I have found this compound in several catalogs. It would be easy enough to buy, but how suspicious would a purchase like this be? (we're talkin about a few grams or so)

I have said before that this is just a hobby, not a project to make money. The only thing is, how much would it take to make a batch of something, after fucking up the first few times through the synth?

2,5-DMBA is the starting point for several of Shulgin's experiments. So how hard is the stuff watched?

Thanks.

Very.

So Osmium, would you synth this stuff for a small-scale, just playing around with, experiment? I mean, I know all - or many - of the tricks of the clandesine trade (ship order to some other place, don't tell anyone, bee careful, etc.). But for a small, one time trial run, wouldn't it be more effective to just order the stuff? I'm sure I can find many uses other than pharmaceutical for purchasing the 2,5-DMBA.

Thanks.

Who are you trying to convince anyway?

BTW- everything in this digest as of the time I made this post was found on the search engine previously this day.  Proof that the search engine really does work.

Thanks Aurelius!

That is the kind of info I was looking for. Some very interesting leads in there.
