Heating Mantle with Stirrer?

Is it possible to use a magnetic stirrer with one of the soft white glass-col heating mantles (not the ones with a metal jacket)? or will the distance and electricity going through the mantle mess it up. Also, is it possible to have a stirrer that is so strong that it cannot be used for smaller flasks.  e.g. using a stirrer rated for 100 L on a flask with 2 L in it.
