nitroethane synths?

obit has been thinking about nitroethane a lot lately and wondered about the two following possibilities:

ethyl amine electrooxidation- why not? simple enough to try.

ethyl amine oxidation with oxone- why not?  works for oxidizing alkenes- should work for nitros, right?
