Palladium scavengers on silica gel
« on: May 01, 2003, 06:09:00 PM »
Now, Aldrich is introducing a new class of quench reagents: palladium scavengers on silica gel:

3-(Diethylenetriamino)propyl-functionalized silica gel
3-Mercaptopropyl-functionalized silica gel

Does anyone have experience using these or other scavengers for recovering PdCL2 from the wacker oxidation?

Also, on Rhodiums page there is a write up for the improved wacker, using mineral acids as co-catalysts and increasing speed of the reaction by 50 times in some instances. Has anyone tryed this on our favorite olefin yet?
