i've been reading about bdo->gbl conversions.  from what iu can see, ordering the copper chromite catalyst would be an easier bet than making it...problem is, i've seen it listed as CrCu2O4 and CrCu2O3...a few questions-
-will the difference in oygen make a difference?
-does anyone know the CAS # for what i'm looking for?
-will the catalyst be used up during the reaction?
thanks in advance.

Rhodium

The article at my page about the dehydrogenation of butanediol is referencing Ind. Eng. Chem. 26, 878 (1934). Unfortunately, I don't have access to that article, but I am sure that the preparations  I have on my page will yield a suitably active catalyst.

Where have you found your formulas for copper chromite? Organic Syntheses says it is CuCr2O4 in their listed preparation, and Aldrich sells it as 2CuO.Cr2O3 with CAS No [12053-18-8].

SWIM has made it, UTFSE to check novel discourse for a nice thread all about it. If you still have questions then shoot.
