Title: Isosafrole glycol found in Illicium dunnianum
Post by: Rhodium on February 18, 2003, 02:59:00 PM
Isosafrole glycol found to be naturally occurring in Illicium dunnianum:

Phytochemistry 44(6), 1099-1108 (1997) (https://www.thevespiary.org/rhodium/Rhodium/pdf/isosafrole.glycol.pdf)

Another natural isosafrole glycol derivative, occurring in Machilus thunbergii, is discussed in

Phytochemistry 26(5), 1513-1515 (1987) (https://www.thevespiary.org/rhodium/Rhodium/djvu/aiba.djvu)

With those compounds naturally occurring, there is little doubt that MDP2P also occurs in nature, even if only in trace amounts.
