Has anyone had experience with acetone, xylene, methanol, or sulfuric acid around the home?
Which brands have worked best for you?

No brand names around here. Use the purest you can find, without any additives.

Try to get the cans that say 100% pure, although a word to the wise, even those arent actually pure. Depending on what youre using certain solvents for you might want to look in to be aware that some contain more water than others.

I'd focus on refining what you have, once you find your "pure" sources.  I.E., making your acetone anhydrous by distillation or other methods, et cetera.
