chemical online auctions?
« on: January 07, 2003, 09:01:00 PM »
After utfse and coming up with nothing matching chemical auctions im still wondering if there auctions are reliable and safe?
The one auction that im referring to sells mercuric chloride by the ounce dirt cheap. And ive also read on the hive that mercuric chloride is on watched chem lists.
Any input on the idea of shopping on a big chemical auction site?

And no im not talking about E-Bay  :P

Paper trails

Any paper trail is potentially dangerous.  There is also the potential of the federal police being on the other end of the auction, and although it may be very inticing to have a low price and and easy connection alas the easier the connection and the lower the price, sometimes the higher the risk that we run of being either caught or monitored.  It is best to shoot for reliable connections for chemicals that are safe to the higest degree possible.  It is also importent to realize that that although you might not have the feds at your door the day the product is delivered there is always the chance that suddenly you will be monitored, and your strong chemical connections will begin to be monitored as well.  As always the best advice is to stick to what works the best which is caution and saftey first, and cost and convience second.   Of course there are those who will go the the effort to make themselves virtualy anonymous and would be able to order safely from these sorts of sites, but unless you are willing to put in the work, research, and money that is required to create an anonymous identity then you probably aren't ready to begin trying to order chemicals from these sorts of sites.  The unfortunate truth is that most who would look for the lowest orice are those the most unwilling to put the time into researching, the work into devloping and acting, and the extra money into devloping an infrstructure from wich to work within when aquiring chemicals and equipment.  Especially in regard to listed and watched chemicals and equipment. . . you really have no place attempting to order these things if you haven't layed the ground work to do so in a safe manner first.  There are many excellent posts regarding the creation of such infrastructure, and I'm sure that the search engine could let you know in great detail what needs to be done.  Knowing what to do is great, but acting on it is whats really important.  Play it safe, unless you either have a solid connection or have developed an infrastructure of anonimity then make what you need from OTC, and only consider buying suspicious chemicals or equipment when absolutely necessary.
