Extraction of mimosa hostilis, steam or a/b?

Hi.

Is it posseble to use steam distillation to extract DMT from mimosa hostilis rootbark? And is it easiere than a/b?

Steam distillation is unfortunately a no-go...

Steam distillation is unfortunately a no-go for tryptamines. They are not volatile enough to pass over with the steam.

A/B is the way to go here. You will however not get a pure crystalline compound out of it. More "goo" really, but the goo works as advertised never the less  ;)

Not true. There are purification methods that bring out the crystal extract. Check out dmt.lycaeum.org

Why do people avoid column chromatography for tryptamines?  you don't even have that much material.  And you'd get a pure product.  Is there oxidation or rearrangement going on that I'm unaware of?

What are normal yield? I did a a/b on 50g Mimosa, the final product was 40mg red clumpy powder  ::)
