Oxidation of active Methylene groups to carbonyl compounds
Selenium Dioxide (Riley Oxidation)
          White crystalline solid, mp 340°C, very poisonous
          Selenium metal is the by-product
          Solvents = dioxane, HOAc/Ac2O, H2O
