Title: Myco-Chem Ergot question
Post by: timnickbear on May 12, 2004, 03:02:00 PM
I was reading the section of Michael Valentine Smith's article on LSD and there is a part talking about cultivating and extraction of Ergot compunds.  SWIM was wondering if it would be possible to step this up a little bit by using a 55 gallon caustic spill drum made of heavy wall plastic and use larger glass tubing and a larger rubber stopper and fill both with polyfill one to vent and one with which to allow for inert gases.  Not using the culture recipe which he used but rather the ones in the US patents on ergot cultivation.  SWIM's thought is that this is rather possible but the extraction of ergolines from such a large container is not like glass however could swim use the same container for extraction as it is for chem spills? hmm...1 quart yeilds enough for 1g of LSD so 220 quarts...well you do the math

Larger scale production and patent recipes have been discussed comprehensively, utfse in the tryptamine forum.

You would require a centrifuge a big one at that. :P
