In my neck of the woods, the conservation police patrol the rivers, and board all boats for no reason, search for illegal fish, fuck your mom, then leave....

it would be a bad idea, unless you live in the AMazon..

Buy a Yacht
« Reply #3 on: March 28, 2002, 07:58:00 AM »
Buy a yacht instead of a house, and sail around the world, and just cook during your crossing the ocean days. Sail to the mediterranean, cook up some stash, visit Rhodium in his castle, and sail home.

If you are going to do something like that, do it the right way, the luxurious way.  ;)

swim says just watch out for the big grey ships. swim said he saw a cigarette boat being stopped (when it ran out of gas) and boarded by the US navy in international waters. Upon inspection of boat over 2000 lbs of coke was found bundled in nice little bricks. The bricks of coke were then chopped in half and fed to the fish. The next day cigarette boat was reduced to bits and pieces using 50 cal mach gun.

Were you on that boat, or were you on the Navy's boat? I find that somewhat of a tall tale, but I never claimed to know everything either. I'd like to hear more.

How long before those cigarrette boats have torpedoes?

Man I would love to see that.
At least make it a fair fight.

I think thinkin crazy thoughts like that is going to set you up for a different type of trip up the river..

Why risk your freedom for something that can be done with a minimal risk indoors??

Not to mention.. you going to eat that fish you just caught?? Who cares if caught a few hydrioc acid fumes before it finally died trying to breath.

If it's a rush your lookin for, try sky diving  ;)

Buy yourself an old used WWII battleship and cook on the high seas.  That way you won't have any trouble with pirates.

We've had some busts in boats floating on the lakes around where Geez lives. The busts were not routine, however, and the narcs were tipped off by the Iodine purchases and followed the buyer to the lake, watched her take a boat to a houseboat on the lake. The paper said they saw an orange glow from the boat from over half a mile away. Must've been a fire in the charcoal grill, because it was only a three ounce cook. Cooking on the water is no different than cooking at home...draw no unnecessary attention to the boat, have approapriate fishing licenses handy just in case, and be prepared to dump everything overboard if necessary. The state troopers have boats and patrol the water, but Geez has yet to hit a boat roadblock or be asked to search his rig on the water. Sounds pretty safe to me, especially if you have a houseboat on a big river. Or a little river just off a big river.

In most outdoors that is worthy of calling outdoors, there is a HUGE amount of extra room, and a little bit of reconnaisance performed as an outdoorsman goes a long way to insure freedom from interruption. Most of the US has like 1 ranger for 3 or 4 counties. Some of those counties are really freaking huge and open. They have these great things called walkie talkies too. 8)

Please don't tell me that this implies you want to just dump your toxic wastes overboard! Proper disposal is just another cost of doing biz. At least place wastes in 5 gallon buckets, with lid, and set on shore for the man to pick up and dspose of. Proper diposal of waste is now part of the laws regular duties...it's in their budget.

doesn't break my conscience up too much to burn some naptha on the fire, or slip a little toluene into the chainsaw gas.

I thought the same thing as you Geez , Im glad atleast one of the bee's agree with me.

RX I think you missed the point . only dump if you have no other choice..So swim agrees our water system should be respected and by no means used as a sewer for dumping hazard materials.. However some of the things like I2 is used for the actual treatment of lakes and ponds I believe or so I have been told. but still we have a responsibility  as humans to respect our lands and waterways .. Hope I have answered  your question..

Don't pollute
« Reply #16 on: March 29, 2002, 04:33:00 AM »
Please don't advocate directly throwing toxic waste into the ocean, because it stays near the surface and kills life and looks ugly.

If it is a solvent like alcohol, burn it in the open sea air, it burns clean. If it's nasty shit like toluene, fill a container with it and encase the container in concrete (fully sealed, dont skimp) and toss it overboard. At least that way it will be contained for quite some time and sink all the way to the ocean floor. Only do that in like the center of the Atlantic too where its very very deep.

I really think any of this is a bad idea other than burning it, but that has its dangers (getting caught). I just think that people are going to do what they are going to do, but just be smart about it. If you are going to put shit in the ocean, seal it, and put it deep where it interferes with no one. Even then, its a shitty thing to do.

« Reply #18 on: March 29, 2002, 05:51:00 AM »
I agree whole-heartedly, and would never do such a thing.

My only point (I feel the need to clarify) is that I know there are some people out there who will do it anyway, and I'd at least like to implant the idea of there being other ways than pouring waste overboard. That is all.
