Title: 0.6 or 0.15 foil in Al/Hg, what is better?

HI! I can't get a reynolds foil in europe, so i want to know what is better. SHould i use 0.6 pie tinns or 0.15 alufoil?
Do i have to prepare the 0.6 tinns?

I think your Al thicknesses are wrong.

Standard Al foil is 0.015 millimetres thick, not .15 millimetres.

This unit of measurement is commonly referred to as a "micron".

Standard thick aluminium from the hardware store (also known as "flashing") is 0.3 millimetres or 300 microns thick.

Pie pans are usually 0.06 to 0.08 millimetres (or 60-80 microns) thick.

If you are using standard aluminium foil (0.015, 15 microns) then DO NOT USE IT IN AN AL/HG!

It is way too reactive.

Pie pans are, usually, best. ;)
