Sodium carbonate is Na2CO3, and sodium bicarbonate NaHCO3, i.e. different.

No, that are two different compounds. Sodium bicarbonate is also known as sodium hydrogencarbonate (NaHCO3) and sodiumĀ  carbonate is, well, sodium carbonate (Na2CO3).
