MDP2P to MDMA

Swim is curious when going from mdp2p to mdma and utilyzing PT IV(Adam's catalyst),hydrogen and methylamine gas if the methylamine gas can be replaced by methylamine HCL...?

you need to use the more reactive freebase

No, you need to use the freebase, as it is more reactive. However, you can easily make a solution of methylamine gas in methanol, and use that in the reaction, so there is no need to handle the gas.
