Okay...The link provided by G_H deals specifically with DryMatrix Formulation Technology and has been sidestepped with the Tetratrap, The IDEA Method and earlier write-ups.
The one BB provided deals with the newest concern:
Delayed Pulsed Release Drug Delivery or Pulsatile Release
It's important to keep in mind that a combo of both these formulations can be found in the same pill and this is creating the layering effects that threaten the conventional approaches toward extraction.
Some components of the pills will remain pH independent while other components rely heavily on pH activation of the system.
Solvent extraction alone pose a different set of problems because the pH independent parts will activate upon exposure to some common solvents.
The first common approach to removing a particle coating seems to activate a separate component thereby hindering the extraction process.
When looking in depth at these separate technologies, there appears to be a narrow window of opportunity that a bee might slip by with the employment of conventional approaches.
But when looked at as a whole of separate technologies included in one system, it's hard to arrive at a conventional approach that won't complicate the extraction upon activating a nasty element while trying to remove another nasty element.
I predict that if all bees start researching and adding all they find to this thread by way of links to individual technologies available today, it will be easy to see what a tangled web they've weaved into all this.
But we have to start somewhere and it might as well be here.
