assuming that one had a 65% solution of hypophosphorus acid, wouldn't that mean that the maximum concentration of HI would be 35%?
Since most of the write-ups speak of 57% HI aq, wouldn't one want to reduce the hypophosphorus concentration in order to raise the maximum HI concentration of the solution?
Could it be that failed hypo rxns are due to too high concentration of hypo!?
