swin read not to exceed 2/3 of flask

a 6L for distilling sassy? Thats a whole lot to do at once. You'll be there for days. You want to distill slowly to get good purity

***** warning swin is a noob ******

just to get the entire flask to heat up to a point where it would distill over properly would take a while, smaller volumes heat up faster and the process can be completed much quicker.  In other words SWiM could prolly distill 6L in 500ml flasks faster than you could 6L in one shot.  Just because of the thermodynamics.

When swim, first set out he was under the naive novice impression that bigger is better, but alas he has learned a valuable lesson and will say 10 hail marys to repent!!
Swim is actually going to can distilling altogether and follow the advice of a friendly fellow bee who gave swim some killer advice! :D
Of course, swim now needs to find a practical use for a 6l rbf and a 350mm graham coil condensor...shouldnt be too hard i imagine ;D

hi, if you don't mind using freezing point rather than boiling point for getting safrole, here's some reading:

happy reading

by the way, some organic chem materials in rhodium site has got good teaching on it.
