Yes, halogenation of the alcohol followed by reaction with indole grignard gives DMT:

Well ive read

a few few times and utfse and im still lost on whare to
start.

So halogenation of 2-methylaminoethylene = ?

Can the halogenation be done with HI or is a bromide
needed?

"2-Methylaminoethylene"? Didn't you speak of dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) before?

It doesn't matter if you iodinate or brominate, both halogens will be reactive enough.

Yes Dimethyl was what swim meant.

So when 2DMAE is halogenated what is the name of the next
reaction to get DMT and what chemicals [easiest rout] are
needed?

Just... type "anandamide" into a google image search... think about it... you'll come up with something.
