I can't get any other Hg salt than HgSO4. Can I use this one for amalgamation or not? Thanks
Give me some chemicals and I'll give you pleasure.

No, it obviously cant be used, because if it could, you wouldnt have to turn it into HgCl2 for a proper amalgam.

You should really check out Rhodium's site. there is a link at the bottom of this page. As for what to do with your HsSO4, see

https://www.thevespiary.org/rhodium/Rhodium/chemistry/hgcl2.txt

See what literally under 2minutes of searching Rhodium's site found?

The advantage of HgCl2 is its higher solubility resulting in a faster amalgamation.  The sulfate will probably take a long time to amalgamate.
