This will be a bit of an unorthodox suggestion: Chemistry 101
It takes place at high schools and colleges all over the world, and it is astounding in it's ability to bring people a more well rounded understanding of the phenomenon inherent in any chemical environment.
This is not an insult, you need to have understanding of the changes of matter and substances at the molecular/atomic level and trust me, a few threads at the hive will not provide that much insight. Some bee will or could put the formula up, and it won't come close to being decipherable. If it is followed by diagrammatical illustrations of the changes that occur, it will seem as tho some geometry head has doodled stuff that only makes sense should you emerge from Chemistry 101 a graduate.
