RE:Distillationn of Nitromethane

More than likley to be on the safe side .  This is because they sometimes put additives in there nitromethane from methanol to oil.  I would think a 99% mixture would still have something added to it.  Distill it, see if anything comes over better to be safe than sorry .  Also there is some good information in this post about nitromethane.

That's bullshit.  Swim uses 40% nitro for rc cars.  The the little bit of oil that's in there doesn't cause any adverse effects.  Just make sure you calculate proper amount of nitro.

Are you trying to convince me that it is ok to use small amounts of castor oil in a synthesis?

In most places they keep it for "custom fuel mixes" so you can make your own % for better performance, if they dont stock it they can sure as hell order it no questions asked.... its a common easy chemical to find.... and cheap too....

in SWIMs area (N. AmeriKKKa), there is at least 2 Hobbyist Fronts: Radio Control Car/Helicopter Modeling Specialists  that will sell 100% pure Nitromethane for mixing your own R/C Helicopter or Car fuel.  The same places usually sell Methanol and Lubricants for u to mix together in your preferred R/C Car Fuel ratio.  Using a fucking search engine (not necessarily here) will quickly yield good results if u are persistant.  Hope that helps..

Maj...I am not trying to convince anyone that it is ok to use straight racing fuel.  Swim knows for a fact that it works for him with 40% nitro mix.  He gets 23g from a MM synth and re-crystallizes to get roughly 20g.  If you want to waste your time distilling your nitro go ahead.  There is a post quite awhile back from someone (i think labtop or sunlight?...not sure) that mentioned just to use straight rc fuel because of little chance of side reactions.
