MD-P2Pol -->MD-P1Pol

Is it possible to ensure the re-arrangement of the alcohol to the first carbon, and do a normal NH4NO3, CuAc reaction to get MD-P1P so MALPHA can be the object of ones dreams?

Then it would be better to add ethylmagnesium bromide to piperonal to get the 1-ol, or to make MD-propiophenone directly by doing a friedel-craft acylation of benzodioxole.

Swim would make the alcohol then distill it and let it sit overnight before the oxidation is attempted.  Did Bright Star confirm that it was in fact an alcohol that was produced with the H2SO4.  If so the production of Malpha could be a great route for beginners to learn proper lab technique.  Swim Strongly encourages anyone to attempt this.  Swim knows someone who assayed this compound and they said it was alright.  The dosage is slightly higher.

Does any one have details about a proper Mercation/De mercation with HgSO4+NaBH4 the mercury is recycleable since it is returned in the elemental form.

Rhodium:
Those routes will not suite SWIMS needs. SWIM has access to only a few things, and safrole is the only available precursor SWIM can get the hands on right now.  And SWIM don't like to work with girgnards.

Are you sure it was Malpha?  PiHKAL reports it's dose to be about half that of MDMA, not slightly more.

Yeah, I am interested in aminomercuration as well.  But are there any other reduction methods for the intermediate other than the borohydride?

Swim was not talking about aminomercation. OXYMERCATION?DE Mercation.  what if you took the Mercated safrole and reduced it to the alcohol Could AlHg Possibly be used.

If your gonna mercurate/de-mercurate something, why make a ketone?  Why not just proceed directly to the amine?
