SNorting Powdered NoDoz

I refused to partake in amphetamines in my high school daze but I do recall snorting powdered NoDoz to study on.

I wonder if there is an easy way to synthesize caffeine in industrial quantities or if caffeine in pill form is extracted from plant sources.

I've understood that caffeine is a byproduct from production of decaffeinated coffee by extraction of the caffeine with supercritical CO2.

Is the anhydrous form, active when smoked? I have read conflicting reports on different forums. Some say it is nothing more then a placebo when smoked. Then again, I have also heard that it may enhance or potentiate the effects of other stimulants when taken orally or insuffulated. What's the truth?

Its obvious that someone is trying to promote the compound?  ::)

I can just sense it coming now...

"hell, why not just dissolve some, break out a clean spike and mainline it?"

I'm sure the coffee companies among others are doing their best to promote their products. ;D  Caffeine probably works when vaporized, but what's the point?

. The monohydrate dehydrates to anhydrous at 80°, which starts to sublime at 178° becoming vapour. So it doesn't matter which one is being "smoked", the result is still the same. And check out what happens to the HCl dihydrate form. Might be that the anhydrous HCl isn't stable.
