In reference to LSD synthesis:
1. Can you substitute Petroleum ether (like Naptha)for ether in extractions?
2. Will an ~85% purity Diethylamine (rest is probably MEA, TEA and H2O) work or do you need 99.9 purity?  I figure no, but just wanted to ask, or maybe it can be cleaned up.

Just to elaborate a little more:
1. Pure Ethyl Ether versus Naptha -
For doing a seed extraction, Naptha will work, but for doing extractions with the rest of the synthesis, can you use it also?  Is there other materials in the Naptha that will cause issues?
Naptha is nice because the ignition is higher then Pure Ethyl Ether.  Don't want to use Ethyl Ether unless it is required.

2. Diethylamine -
Since it is not pure DEA and may contain a small amount of water, will this cause an issue at this stage of the synthesis?  Should time be spent removing the water from the DEA?

I figure if someone is going to look at LSD synthesis, then they may as well plan on using good materials so this is solved:
Use Pure Ethyl Ether and Diethylamine

Something tells me if someone was familiar with handling and working with large amounts of Toluene, then this experience would help in working with above - with regard to flammability, ventalation, etc.
