and you want 2-bromo-4,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine? no TMA-2

If so, then I would imagine that condensation with MeNO2 with ammonium acetate as catalyst would form a nitrostyrene

If it's TMA-2 (an amphetamine, rather than just a phenethylamine) you want, then use EtNO2 rather than MeNO2.
