I wanted to tell people about yet another safrole source, but mainly I wanted to inform about the existance of the relatively rare phenylpropanoid
sarisan (6-methoxy-safrole), which is a precursor to MMDA-2, one of the "essential amphetamines", as Shulgin calls them (as they are derived from essential oil components). However, Shulgin uses the alternative name "asaricin" in Pihkal instead of
sarisan.
