GBL Extraction Solvent non-DCM
« on: June 09, 2004, 04:49:00 AM »
Swim ran out of DCM, which all the writeups use. There is a quick access to TCE (trichloroethane), chloroform, and toluene though. Which solvent is best? And how would the solubilities compare to DCM (basically how would you alter the volume of solvent used to extract, swim doesn't want to use too much and spend all day distilling)

Chloroform should have almost identical solvent properties for this application.
