U need a P-source; either rp, P-acid, or HypoP.  Thats the easy part.

HI-only reactions suck.

If you are so impatient, you could always offer up your precursor on the altar of wisdom--sacrifice for the greater good of the hive, by testing out some of the ideas in

Post 497130 (missing)

(elfspice: "substitute HCOOH for P(red)", Stimulants)
, with formic or oxalic acid.

Don't expect much, but I'm sure it would bee most appreciated.

they suck bad.  No need to experiment; its already been done and conclusions been made.  The HI decomposes and releases free iodine (a thick black sludge) and the HI concentration drops too quickly so that it never can reduce the pseudo anyway.  Thats not to say that they cant be done; but its a WHOLE lot easier to use a P-source...

You have all the right equipment etc.  You are poised for success.  Dont fuck it now by not using a P-source.
