News / Re: Wareami
« Last post by java on January 07, 2023, 04:06:30 AM »
......i was in contact with him and  had  many aspirations , he wrote,

“Hey Java, Is Org still around and if so, is he active on any boards. I haven't been to any forums in quite some time. This month unfortunately I was unable to afford renewal for the yearly hosting to keep the WD®eloaded archives up. I still have the wdrestored.com domain and next month I will purchase another host for the archives and begin building a new board. I was unsuccessful at repairing the WD®evolutions database from when it went offline in 2013. That is on the back burner until after I build WD®esurrections forum and I'll bring back the repaired archive for a full historic account of the archives.
I trust this message finds you and yours in good health and patiently await your reply. As for myself, i'm not in the best shape after being diagnosed with cancer and other health problems common in old age. Hit me back
Peace
Ware“.
....may he rest in peace to an old friend....java

Those of you who remember Wareami, be advised that he died recently, of cancer. I was last in touch with him December 1, and he advised me of his diagnosis but did not tell me how advanced his cancer was.

Fentanyl and meth

The road to enlightenment

Not

With few exceptions I am violently opposed against drug shaming, it should have no place here on this board. Crystal Meth is a great weekend drug, it is just no daily driver. It has a high safety margin, much higher the most RCs and the number of those who completely tweaked out is quite small regarding the very large userbase. Most of horrible stuff one is shown prohibition is whats to blame, this and homelessness and the overall social detoriation of the american society.

Until shortly being a junkie was mostly a choosen lifestyle. That the US government turned a few millions into involuntary junkies by changing prescription guidelines on synthetic opiods is another story, the rsulting higher demand on the black market and the preference of synthetic opiods over good ol' Heroin is 100% on the authorities and not on a chemical compound.

All this is just another act in the war on drugs which was never against drugs but a means to distract from the real problems of society (as frankly admitted not long ago, the WOD was invented to curb anti-war protests and civil rights movement).

I do not want start politics but kindly keep out the Fox News/Murdoch Media crap. Anybody saying "my drug is beter then your drug", "my drug should be legal and for yours you should go to prison for" is a selfish hypocrite, a traitor to the cause. Period.

Harm Reduction Resources / People not cooking dope?

This is what I’ve been told about the people I live around, from someone who’s about to go to prison for a while, for the good honestly. Nobody cooks it with a lighter anymore. That person I know at least knew about proper harm reduction, and he’s the only one who doesn’t get skin lesions/bacterial infections. Meth and fentanyl mostly;they don’t sell heroin anymore people want the fentanyl more now. He tells them about that and they say it’s wasting some of it. I don’t even know, Florida

News / tor mirror site

A tor mirror site on a dedicated server. Just copy all the /talk/ folder to the tor server, reconfigure for the tor address.
Keep this site and when down, goto tor site.
Syncing the two databases is easy.

Yes, I sent Vesp a PM about this, so far no response unfortunately. I for my part have backed up my posts, as well as a few threads of my interest. If someone with the knowledge could provide a most recent backup of the whole site, that could be very important. I'm getting a sour feeling about the downtimes lately. In case this goes down, regroup at HL or SCM...

^ Looks like this mirror hasn't been updated in nearly a decade...

This would be a long shot, but Erowid hosts the Hive (archive.erowid.org) and some Rhodium pages.
If SHTF, I wonder if they would be willing to host a Vespiary mirror too?

When a forum has nearly 15,000 members I don't know if this recruit more all the time mentality is actually what is needed. As someone mentioned recently, the era of the drug chemistry forum has obviously peaked and is on the decline at this point. From what I can tell the overall quality of contributions has declined. Whether this is because of the general mentality prevalent these days or simply the mindset that it's all been done and why bother I don't know.
But the cold hard reality is that we have placed much of the knowledge of the entire human race at our fingertips, and looking around, I don't see that it is made the average person much smarter. In fact, quite the opposite.
There are only a handful of people here that are actually discussing anything interesting at all. The rest of it is speculation and reddit newbies.
I'm sure that this will be a very unpopular opinion, but it's mine and I own it.

I think I’d have to agree with this.  The low hanging fruit was gone a long time ago.  I myself have been quite busy but discussing mostly with people in other places.  Will have some exciting (novel) results to share soon - if we are all still here.
