vacuum question

Swim just got a new vacuum and his safrol comes over at about 55c.  At what temp should his ketone and freebase come over at?

Congratulations you seem to have bought a nice vacuum pump.

Using the nomograph it seems that your pump pulls about 2 mm Hg since the boiling point of Safrole at 760 mm Hg is 232°C and your observed boiling point is 55°C.

The variation of the boiling point with pressure can be estimated by using a nomograph. On the following page you can enter your parameters to answer your questions

http://www.ch.cam.ac.uk/magnus/boil.html

Use the button to toggle between kPa and mmHg, enter initial pressure and temperature and press set. Enter the new pressure (reduced pressure) and press calculate. Before changing pressures you have to reset the initial pressure and temperature.

I cannot answer your questions completely since I don't know the boiling point of MDP-2P or the freebase at atmospheric pressure by heart  :-[ .

I would guess that you would pull MDP-2P over at 85°C
