Is heat drying (heat lamp) satisfactory for removing the solvent from end product? Honey bee tasting like acetone. yuck
-
Swim would say yes. Acetone has a low boiling point and therefor is easy to evaporate. Just redry it. It probably just wasnt dried enough the first time.

thanks, hsark. i'll give it a go...

SWIM uses a heat lamp drying the product on a mirrow for 1 hour and has no bad taste.

read Rhodium's posts on "methylamine smell" in final product, maybe this helpes. My first product smelled like xylene or other unwanted stuff. Since i am doing an A/B and recrystallize 2x this has never occured again. Pure product smells/tastes different to this normal, commercially available stuff.
