this preparation is a seemingly endless circle of chlorine dioxide and sodium chlorite - one but not before the other fuck

anyone got a lead on starting with something other than ClO2 and obtaining NaClO2.

is there some way of doing something like this

NaCl   ==>    NaClO3  ==>  NaClO2

the correct answer is yes its like this dumbass.

Perhaps decomposition of the sodium chlorate ...

Perhaps decomposition of the sodium chlorate using partial heat...

NaClO3 -->NaCl02 +NaClO

Sink or SWIM

would the NaClO be a hypochlorite or what?

Yes, this is the formula for sodium hypochlorite. It is unstable so you won't find it in pure form.

Baseline Does Not Exist.

thanks -----not wanting to do too much conversation with myself.

but this came up as a industrial methodology to the problem

NaClO3 ==> ClO2 ==> NaClO2

still having to deal with the chlorine dioxide (poinsonous gas) but seems likely to be a closed in situ type system.
