Allybenzene to Phenylacetaldehydevia Ozone?

A allybezene is converted to the corresponding phenylacetaldahyde via a RuCl3 catalyst and NaIO4.
Both chemicals are not readily avalible for the cladestine chemist and the Sodium Periodate is expensive almost $1/g.

The article mentions that ozone can be used to cleave the carbon and form the wanted aldahyde.
Does anyone have any papers or information about this proceedure? Could it be carried out in the same way with a zinc catalyst where propylbezenes are converted to aldahydes   in a GAA or MEOH solution?

Any help with me appreciated. Swim wishes to form the acetaldoxim from the aldahyde and then wishes to reduce via the Zn/Ammonium Formate reduction.
