Amination of olefins and alkynes
« on: September 20, 2002, 12:15:00 PM »
In the newest edition of Synlett (Heft 10, 2002), a nice review, entitled Advances and Adventures in Amination Reactions of Olefins and Alkynes, has been published. SWiM thought that some bees at The Hive might be interested in this kind of reaction, so here is the reference...  ;) .
I won't post the whole article here... Most bees (should) know how [sarcasm] incredible hard [/sarcasm] it is to get Synlett articles these days. For those who don't know (yet), SWiM has put it on a geocities 'dump' especially for you (

http://www.geocities.com/jolorinus666/file/0-00110325156831-1032516035.pdf

). Anyway, here is the TOC:

1 General
1.1 Background
1.1.1 The Fundamental Chemistry
1.1.2 Catalytic Amination: General Features
1.1.2.1 Late Transition Metal-catalyzed Oxidative Amination
1.1.2.2 Transition Metal-catalyzed Hydroamination
1.2 Challenges and Motivation
2 Studies at our Laboratory
2.1 Transition Metal-catalyzed Amination of Olefins
2.1.1 Intermolecular anti-Markovnikov Amination of non-Activated Aryl Olefins
2.1.2 Intermolecular anti-Markovnikov Amination of 2-Vinylpyridine
2.1.3 Reaction Mechanism and Catalytic Cycle
2.1.4 Other Synthetic Applications
2.1.4.1 Amination of Styrenes with Primary Amines (Anilines) to Form Quinolines
2.1.4.2 Amination of Norbornadiene with Secondary Amines
2.2 Amination of Alkynes
3 Conclusions

The PDF is about 16 pages, and many reaction require more exotic catalysts as Rh. As a last note, SWiM would like to add that Claudia Breindl (1st co-auteur) looks his kind of woman  :P . 'nuff said, enjoy the article.

WOMAN.ZIP: Great Shareware, but be careful of viruses...
