Title: 7-Iodo-5-MeO-DMT potential
Post by: Blind_Angel on March 18, 2004, 04:00:00 PM
SWIM has some 5-MeO-DMT lying around and he found that it's a bitch to dose. He also wonder if he could do something with it, SWIM had the idea of halogenate the 5-MeO-DMT. He look up on TFSE and the closest result he found was this post

which give some info on 7-substitued DMT in rat, anyone actually tried them?

Also for the iodination i don't think that it would be very hard, refluxing with HI or I2 would do I think.

If, this idea sound negative, anyone has any idea what i could do else? (i'm curently looking up in TFSE for converting it to 5-MeO-DIPT)

No, that would likely result in iodination in the 2-position and/or demethylation of the 5-MeO group.

Bromination could probably be effected with the complex between Bromine/Pyridine Hydrobromide (Py·HBr·Br2) though, see
