Title: Procedure for washing glycol for storage
Post by: slackdaddy on May 16, 2003, 03:34:00 PM
Swim is going to run the first of many buffered performic reactions (per Labtop's writeup).  After this reaction, the glycol will be stored for later use.

I understand that before storage, it is important to wash the glycol to remove all acid.

Swim plans on washing the glycol with 5% sodium bicarb, then water.

Should this be done before or after boiling away DCM?

Any answers or comments are greatly appreciated.
