Prodcing electricity to produce heat is a terrific uneconomic method.

I suppose you will have good ventilation where you are doing this, but anyways you should do the actual cooking and the extraction and other work with volantile and inflammable solvents separated either by space or time.

Go for propane. Their are camping refrigerators availabe - cheap - which run on propane. Use an camping gas-stove and place a ironbox filled with sand on it. The ironbox should be far bigger than the stove - now you have a "sandbath". The temperatur of your sand will be hottest directly over the flame and get lower the farer away from the flame beyond. Now you do your quick regulation of temperature by moving the flask on the sandbath as the regulation by the flame would be to slow.
Thick gloves are a good idea.
Do a steamdistillation (UTFSE) directly into dil. HCl when the reaction is finished, then cut down all open light (also on the refrigerator and work on with daylight or batterie light for recrystallisation work which is a "must be" using this method.
Good thing: the sandbath will contain enough heat for heating the IPA etc. More sand - more heat - is understood.

Very important is: You dont have to hear the generator running all time which is compltely nerving when doing this - believe me - you go crazy.
