Brightstar-Methylman Combination possible?
« on: January 03, 2004, 01:09:00 PM »
The separation of the oil after flooding Brightstar's Wacker ist very difficult for me (anyone similar experiences?). That's why i have mixed the whole solution 3 times with DCM, like Methylman says. This is much more easier. Will this work also for my Wacker setup ??? (DMF,Safrole,1,4-Benzoquinone,PdCl2,dH2O) :)

The 3 washes with DCM is fine.

The 3 washes with DCM is fine. What part of the process is the hardest for you?

Hi! I am glad to hear this from you. I flooded the whole Wacker solution with slightly acidic water. But i could not find the layers. Brightstar is not filtering the whole thing before this separation. There some crud at the bottom of my 2l beaker and the whole 2l solution is almost black. Black oil in black solution - how can this work ?
