Title: Denaturated ethanol in sodiumethylsulfate
Post by: Bandil on December 10, 2001, 10:25:00 AM
Hi!

Swim has made a soln of sodium ethylsulfate(hopefully) using denaturated ethanol(93%) conc sulfuric acid and generally following the proc on rhodiums page. Do you think that the denaturated alcohol willo cause any problems? Swim did not think so, so he did not bother to procure 99% ethanol.

Thanks!

Regards
Peter

Denatured ethanol should work just fine. It is not a sensitive reaction.
