Question about optical isomer notation

I am confused about the (+) and (-) abbreviations for describing optical isomers. The abbreviation page on this site indicates that (-) is dextro and (+) is levo. However, in other chemistry-related web sites and books that I have read, (+) is dextro and (-) is levo. Who is correct?

Dextro - light rotates clockwise Levo - light...

Dextro - light rotates clockwise
Levo - light rotates anti-clockwise

So that makes dextro (+) and levo (-)

Hope that helps.
Where is the page that says dextro is (-)???

I always get things like that around the wrong way so i looked it up before i posted to make sure it was right...
