Potassium bisulphate(potassium hydrogen sulfate)? Can the be aquired otc,unsuspiciously?From where?
Sorry cant find much info on google

Could Sodium bisulfate be substituded in this rxn?

You need freshly fused KHSO4, so i'd suggest you make it yourself:


KOH + H2SO4 __> KHSO4 + H2O


I see no immediate reason why NaHSO4 couldn't be substituted here.

KOH and H2SO4 often have small amounts of water present... KHSO4 likely also picks up water better than NaHSO4.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything though.
