Well SWIM is at it again and he has a couple questions about synthing sodium cyanate from urea and soda ash....mostly he just wants some details, I got an introduction in to how easy it is in this post Post 214057 (https://www.thevespiary.org/talk/index.php?topic=11418.msg21405700#msg21405700)

What should the ratio be, equimolar?
Dry reaction, or not?
How high should this be heated?
I will probably have more questions after these are answered, but for now.........
UTFSE, and read this post: Post 442105 (https://www.thevespiary.org/talk/index.php?topic=9038.msg44210500#msg44210500)

You can probably use an electric kitchen oven for the heating. I also think you'd end up with a purer product if you used NaOH instead of Na2CO3...
