Title: sodium ethoxamine
Post by: stratosphere on September 11, 2004, 07:42:00 PM
is it possible to prepare sodium ethoxamine (NaOCH2CH2NH2)
by heating an equavalent of NaOH and ethanolamine to a temperature between that of the B.P. for water and ethanolamine? (i.e. between 100C and 170C)

also would sodium ethoxamine undergo 1,4 "O" addition ?
(e.g. cinnamaldhyde+ sodium ethoxamine --> PhCH(OCH2CH2NH2)CH2CHO)
