Gunpowder?

Had an rxn that accidently went with very little water. 6 psuedo, 3.5 mbrp, and 7g iodine. Swim worked it up and tried to capture the remaining rp. What swim found looks like nothing swim's ever seen. It is fine like rp, but black as gunpowder with no sign of changing color even after hcl boils, water boils and acetone boils. has anyone ever seen this? If yes, did you use it in a subsequent rxn? thnks.

Also, swim has suddenly been unable to retrieve a lot of the honey after an ab. swim was getting about 70%, now, only 50%. Yet the volume is the same as before. Swim thinks it is in the based liquid, but swim can't seem to retrieve it. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks.

maybe its in your fuel. maybe in base solution, maybe both. maybe it doesn't exist. bee happy you got something.

The newest gakk will really do a number on RP.  Most likely your pills weren't cleaned to rid the gakk.
    The orange 2 gakk is also a yeild killer and overall fuck a bee in the end type gakk, that is hard to spot pre-rxn, but is a killer in the post rxn.  This could explain your 20% yeild loss.  NP washes of the post-rxn fluid help, but will not rid the orange 2 gakk. 
     How were your pills cleaned?  What were the inactives? These must be known to help other bees help U with U're situation.
     Swim has seen RP reduced to this more than once by so called local cooks Ibee has come to know as Wareami referrs to as "GUP"chuckers (i.e.ground up pill chuckers, cooks whom just throw in the whole shebang rather than using an up to date pill cleaning method.)
    The RP is most likely trash.
    Next time try with clean feedstock.  Clean in=clean out in RP/I reaction.

   These are just guesses trying to point u in the right direction, but swim wouldn't use the RP again!
   Hope swim could help
